RESORTE
CUARTO'S COMETA |
| She
is one of the youngest remaining daughters of the legendary "Resorte
Cuarto" alive today. She is also his only daughter out of two-time
PFHA Grand National Fino Champion, "Frio Viento". Cometa
has to be considered one of the best broodmares in our breed for several
reasons. First, her all important "tail female line" is out of
"Frio Viento", considered to be the most naturally-fino
stallion in our breed's history.
Second, she certainly has the pedigree, conformation, temperment,
hocks, presence, and elegance that are mandatory for any broodmare
and even more so for a Grand Dam.
Third,
she has a wonderful way of emphasizing any fabulous traits or eliminating
any faults from all of the stallions with whom she has been bred. |
| You name it, if it was hocks,
she made them more powerful; if it was attitude, she calmed them down,
as in "Valentino de Pino Mistico", her 99' "Capuchino"
gelding. He has the best disposition, straightest legs, sharpest color,
and best hocks of any "Capuchino" gelding we have seen.
His placement as the 4th National Champion in A/O Performance Colts/Geldings
at the 2002 Nationals, reflects these attributes. “Meteoro de
Pinos Mistico”, her 96’ “Profeta” gelding
won a 6th National Championship in Country Pleasure, with his sub-junior
owner, Christina Marie Burke. Then “Estrella de Pinos Mistico”,
her 97’ “Nevado” daughter had an outstanding class
in the always difficult Amateur Owner Pleasure Mares class at the
2005 Grand National Championship; however, she didn’t receive
placement. |
"Resorte
Cuarto's Cometa" is the beautiful, palomino Grand Dam of Misty
Pines Paso Finos. She is one of the last remaining "Resorte
Cuarto" daughters alive today, and is his only daughter out
of "Frio Viento", a PFHA two-time Grand National Fino
Champion. So far, she has blessed us with:
-
a 1996 "Profeta de Besilu" gelding named "Meteoro
de Pinos Mistico",
- a
1997 "Nevado" mare named "Estrella de Pinos Mistico",
- a
1999 "Capuchino" gelding named "Valentino de Pino
Mistico",
- a
2000 gelding from our own stallion, "Santiago de Prometido",
named "Larga Vida Resorte", who is lovingly owned by
Jim and Linda Ianuzi of HIS Paso Finos, in Virginia
- a
2001 gelding from "Santiago de Prometido", named "Rigel
de Pinos Mistico",
- and
a beautiful 2002 filly named "Corazon de Resplendor",
sired from our deceased, former herd stallion, "Resplendor
de Sociagro". This filly is his last offspring and will be
forever cherished at our farm. She is now in training with Cary
Hardiman for the 2006 show season.
Larga Vida Resplendor, (Long live Resplendor).
